Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles are about to launch on PS4. One month later there will be a release on PC and XBOX too. Expected release date is June 15th.
This is a DLC of remastered zombie maps from previous Treyarch games. Call of Duty: World at War will bring us Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt and Shi No Numa. As we know The Giant is already a part of the game which can be purchased as additional DLC. Call of Duty: Black Ops will bring us Kino der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La and Moon. Last map will be from Call of Duty: Black Ops II and it is the Origins. We get 8 maps remastered in total.
2 different points of view
Community has splin into two different points of view, mostly because of the price at 30 USD for this DLC on Playstation 4 platform. Price is yet unknown on PC but rumors say it will be something about that range. It is also not included into Season Pass so if you want these maps you will have to pay extra.
The unhappy ones are pushing their arguments towards the map pool itself, as half of these maps were already remastered in previous Call of Duty games and therefore people already paid for the remaster once. Another thing is that there is nothing new except of graphics, they did not even add all the weapons and perks from old parts; for example PHD Flopper (from the Black Ops).
Part of me agrees with that, if you have those maps already purchased you should be able to get remaster once again little bit cheaper. Telts take Bioshock for example. They released Bioshock and Bioshock 2 remastered and if you happened to have old games on your Steam account you got the remastered ones for free.
Another group is way more optimistic. They look at this from the perspective like this: Regular DLC costs 15 USD and it contains 4 multiplayer maps and only 1 zombie map. With this offer we would get 8 zombie maps for 30 USD and it is only double of that price. If you only play zombies you should be more than happy with this.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles Story Trailer
There are already a lot of gameplay videos on youtube for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles. Feel free to check them out and make your final decision on this deal. And very last thing. DLC will be available on Steam right before Steam summer sale (it usually starts at those days). I think waiting for that might be reasonable as this may get 10-15% discount. Not much but is still a little joy. 🙂
